Traveling with Pets to the Dominican RepublicIt is relatively easy to bring your dog(s) or cat(s), but it is not recommended to bring birds for a short visit, as  hey will need to be quarantined for a period of time.

Some airlines do not transport pets at all, or if they do, may have limitations on the number they will carry, the size (weight) and periods of time when pet transport is permitted (many do not during summer due to higher temperatures).

It is advisable to make your arrangements with the specific airline you plan to take, early, to  identify any size/weight restrictions, requirements, and costs, before you purchase your flight with that airline.

If you decide to bring your pet(s), please ensure the accommodations you secure for your visit allow pets on their premises.

Also be aware that in some of the tourist destinations there may be stray animals, particularly dogs. If you are in fear of your pet being around stray animals, it may be wise to have your pet looked after at home during your visit.
