The President to Help Las Terrenas
President Danilo Medina said that the government is willing to help Las Terrenas take off and asked the entire population will and ability to give in to make this possible.
In that sense, the ruler proposed the creation of a monitoring committee, formed in a plural manner. He said that the same would be composed of community members, government institutions, neighborhood meetings and entrepreneurs.
Danilo Medina spoke in these terms in a surprise visit that he made this Thursday to the municipality of following another surprise visit he made last Sunday, in order to relaunch the tourist area.
He asked the community to cooperate so that the projects do not stagnate. To help Las Terrenas, there must be will and ability to give. We have to make things easier, he complained.
All sectors should do so if they want to benefit from the true tourist boom that the Dominican Republic lives. In just three years, from 2013 to 2016, more than a million and a half tourists have come, recalled the president.
Projects for tourism re-launch
For his part, the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier announced the implementation of a project to regenerate the beaches, with an investment of 100 million dollars.
A tender will soon be launched for the start of the project.
