The Best Restaurants In Las Terrenas 2018
We are often asked what I would choose as The Best Restaurants 2018 so we decided to share with you our experiences and those of our friends!

We have not based the findings on cost although this will be mentioned but we are sticking in the main to the quality of food, service and the whole experience!

The restaurants have are in no particular order of ranking as my own food tastes are totally different to Helen’s so what would be her number 1 may not be mine!

I have to admit this is one of my favorites we have been eating here for over 10 years Simone the Italian owner and his team run a top class restaurant that opens for both lunch and dinner.

The decor is inspired by Hispaniola and Christopher Columbus, beautifully decorated on the theme of three Galleons that were used for the journey to the New World and our island.

In this atmosphere and attention of its owner Simone, you will enjoy the famous Italian pasta, the imported meat and the fish from the region, all prepared on the grill.

This is one of my favourites not only for the great food, but also to just sit an relax with a cold beer and watch the world go by!

We go at least once a week and have newer had a bad experience or food the service and quality are consistently top class.

Seating is either inside or outside on the terrace we enjoy sitting on the terrace watching the world go by under a large shady umbrella.

The staff are excellent and very attentive Simone has trained them very well and nothing is too much trouble.
I often take clients there who in turn become converts.

The whole restaurant including the toilets are always clean and the tables are well laid out.

The Crab or seafood linguine is a favourite but be warned the portion served in a crab shell is massive.

The Pork medallions with figs are another favourite along with the Sardine marinade as a starter.

The fruit platter is amazing with several different fruits all prepared ready to eat.

They have a good selection of both old world and new world wines and the coffee is excellent.

There is limited parking but every time we have been we have always got a parking space.

We love this place and highly recommend that you eat here, remember that during high season and holidays especially in the evenings its best to book a table!

This is why this one of The Best Restaurants In Las Terrenas 2018

El Lugar

Avenida Juan Pablo Duarte

Samana Las Terrenas

The owner is Bruno he is from Belgium he is actually one of my neighbours he runs a fantastic meat lovers restaurant, that also has fresh fish along with other treats.

It’s open for dinner from 7pm and like most restaurants stay open until 12 midnight.

The decor is simple with large wooden tables both inside and outside giving views of the ocean.

Bruno and his staff are very professional and from the first step inside you will be looked after, don’t be surprised if you receive appetisers on the house.

The menu is superb with imported meats that are expertly cooked juicy and tender, my favourite is the tomahawk black Angus prime steak weighing in at 2.6llbs, another is the double butterfly pork chop.
Deserts are excellent and the cocktails are fantastic let them give you there special of the day I bet you would have never had one before.

Try this place you will love it one of my top picks for The Best Restaurants In Las Terrenas 2018

Soho Beach Bar & Grill

Pueblo de los Pescadores Las Ballenas Beach,

rafael.guti.soho0123@gmail.com

The restaurant is located in the famous Pueblo de los Pescadores  “fisherman’s Village” that is host to a whole line of different restaurants and bars.

The Soho has a good size place with both tables inside and outside on the terrace all looking out over the beach to the ocean.

The staff are great but when they are busy not as quick as other restaurants with your drinks, the food though comes out fast.

The menu has something for every one from one of the best burgers in town to Chili and cheese nachos that are loaded.

To fresh fish, steaks, lobster and shrimp and a whole host of starters we have not yet had a bad dish of food.

We love the Tex Mex giant sort of stuffed spring roll Fish and chips with home made tartar sauce and the Fajitas.

some staff like Ramon speak English but all are very professional the chef is the real deal!

They also have the secret two for one specials board for food and drinks. You don’t have to have the same meal you just pay for the highest priced one.

Its one of our lunch time regular haunts and those that follow me on Facebook will often see posts and pictures of meals we have had.

This again is located inside the “fisherman’s Village” it’s a beautifully decorated restaurant that exudes the French style of its owner Denise.

The staff are wonderful the service is always top class but when its busy waiting times for drinks and food can be a little slow.

The tables are beautifully laid and the glasses are always polished its the ideal place for a more intimate dinner experience.

It specialises in Fresh fish and seafood a mix of French Caribbean fusion along with meats and well thought out pasta dishes.

Favourites are the grupper with cream stuffed with Shrimps and a seafood sauce you get a very large portion.

The Lobster is always good here as are the shrimps and the shrimp Ravioli is perfect.

The French deserts such as Creme Brulee is as good as you get in France

The wine selection is okay not as good as you would expect from a French restaurant and it is pricey.

This is why we include this in our list of The Best Restaurants In Las Terrenas 2018

Casa Azul

If you are looking for a great pizza then look no further this is one of the best in town and there are a lot of places selling pizza.
The setting is right on the beach sand on your toes place, it’s a no frills restaurant but is clean and the service is friendly and efficient, the location is ideal for those who want to come out of the Ocean relax and eat great pizza.

The pizzas are a good size around a 14″ I order one just for myself but Helen always wants just one piece of mine which ends up as two then three as they are so delicious. So make sure you order two as you wont want to share.

They do a good assortment of starters and offer Steaks and fresh fish which looks great, but for us it’s always pizza.

The dough is pretty good and the amount of cheese is excellent sometime too much the other toppings are not to be sniffed at.
They are cooked in a traditional brick oven using local wood and from ordering to your table they take around 10 minutes.

Take away service is fast and efficient and they offer local delivery.
This is why this is included in our list of The Best Restaurants In Las Terrenas 2018

Chef Marc & his wife Valerie run this fantastic beach restaurant that serves incredible food.
The menu is vast with some very imaginative dishes and specialities.
Fresh fish and seafood, meats, pasta, paella the list goes on a mix of fine French cuisine mixed with Dominican produce and Thai flavours.
It takes us 20 minutes to decide what we want, then Marc will make the choice even harder as he offers to cook you what you want even if it’s not on the menu.
It would take up a whole post just to try to tell you our favorite dishes but the crab is good very good and the Surf and turf is one of the best I have ever had.

Deserts are again a tricky choice as almost every one is a favourite but the chocolate mousse and the banana split are very special.

Service is excellent as is the attention to detail and wine list location is perfect we love this place.

of course there are so many more restaurants that i could add but these are ones highly recommend any visitor tries at least once.

Try and go out a little later say 8.30pm as most places really don’t get an atmosphere until after 9pm.

Double check that they are open as most restaurants will close for at least one day a week, booking is advisable for large groups and in high season.

Check that they accept credit cards and remember that the menu prices may or may not include the 18% ITIBIS and 10% service charge.
Once you are now and pay cash certain restaurants will waiver the 18%.
